October 30, Mass started at 8:00am, followed by a potluck
breakfast, then the Marian conference. 16 adults attended. At
the close of the adult mission, 13 were enrolled in the Militia
Immaculatae.
After clearing the conference hall, a procession of the Pilgrim
Virgin was made from Zone 1 to the chapel of St. Michael in
Upper Paredez. There, a feast was set in honor of Christ the
King. While eating, there was a meeting with Fr. Tim about the
program for the visit of the Pilgrim Virgin in the main parish
church and the city hall in General Santos, the municipality of
Alabel, and in the barangays and churches in Davao del Sur.
While we loaded the things that were to be transferred from Marbel to the next pilgrimage stops, we observed the preoccupied catechists and organizers, still busy checking things, and we could see fatigue and hunger etched on their faces. It seemed that their bodies were calling out for some well-deserved rest.
As we sat waiting for our signal to drive back to Gensan, our eyes drooped and our bodies sagged in exhaustion. Pretty soon, we were wakened by loud peals of laughter from the dining table and the sound of a very amused male voice asking: "You're tired? But the pilgrimage has not even started!!!" How true.
