Newsletter of the District of Asia September 1997 Editorial As this Newsletter will be printed, His Excellency Bishop Lazo, accompanied by 16 pilgrims from Asia will be in Fatima to join his Episcopal voice to the four bishops of the Society of St. Pius X to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This act of consecration is a renewal of the act done by Archbishop Lefebvre in 1987 which bore its fruit in June 1988 with the four Episcopal consecrations. Ten years later, these four Bishops along with Bishop Salvador Lazo, recently converted to Tradition, will, as far as lies in them, as bishops of the Roman Catholic Church, heed to Our Lady’s request for peace in the Church and in the world. We give over, deliver, and consecrate, as far as lies in our power, Russia to thine Immaculate Heart; We implore thee, in thy maternal mercy, to take this nation under thy powerful protection, to make of it thy domain where thou reignest as Queen, to make of this land of persecutions a land of preference and of blessing. We entreat thee to submit this nation to thyself so well that converted from its legal impiety, it may become a new kingdom for Our Lord Jesus Christ; a new heritage for His sweet scepter. May it also, returned from its ancient schism, come back to the unity of the one fold of the eternal Shepherd; and thus subject to the Vicar of thy Divine Son, may it become an ardent apostle of the social Kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ over all the nations of the earth. Why is such a consecration so important? If one analyses the structure of the famous secret of Fatima, it becomes clear that the Immaculate Heart is the last plank of salvation given by God in these latter times, firstly for the eternal salvation of each and every soul -- “You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wants to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.” Secondly, the Immaculate Heart is also the salvation of society in general, the key to the peace of nations. How? By being the antidote to communism, the social plague of our century. (Russia) will spread its errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. ... To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays.(...) And a certain period of peace will be granted to the world.” Thirdly, the Immaculate Heart is the salvation of the Church. That is no doubt the content of the third part of the Secret. Our Lady most certainly announced the crisis in the Church would be caused by a Council which is now continuously “uncrowning” Our Lord Jesus Christ in all aspects of Christendom. “But in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph” against this modernism, as it has crushed the serpent’s head and all heresies throughout centuries. Salvation of souls, of societies, of the Catholic Church, such is the Immaculate Heart. This is why Heaven itself has insisted so much on the consecration of souls and nations and Russia to this Immaculate Heart. To Sister Lucy who questioned Our Lord on that very insistence, Our Lord answered “I want the world to know that it will be a victory of My Mother.” And our Mother, too. God
